Press Release: Brighton Company Tackles Global Warming (Latest 7 Magazine)

www.catcharide.co.uk, a young Brighton-based company has found a way to help solve the problem of global warming. An online car-sharing service, it matches passengers and drivers to destinations throughout the UK.

As the Kyoto Protocol comes into force, a US government report lays the blame for global warming on carbon dioxide emissions.

Thanks to catcharide, there's now an easy way to help our poor beleaguered planet and save money at the same time. Car-sharing not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions- it is also an effective way of saving money and reducing pollution and congestion.

Transport now contributes more than 19% of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. Of this, 94% comes from road transport which highlights the extent to which our individual journeys contribute to global warming. At present, at least 325,000 cars travelling on Sussex roads have only one person in them.

Founder Juliet Greig says "Not only are members making a contribution to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, but they save money as well. It's a win-win situation for everyone."

Drivers receive up to 10p per passenger per mile (to contribute to running costs), while passengers get a more convenient and cost-effective journey.
